BRINGING PSYCHOLOGY AND YOGA TOGETHER TO CREATE A THERAPY PROGRAM FOR YOUR WELL-BEING
I am thrilled to be offering a new workshop-style approach to well-being combining approaches from evidenced-based Psychological Therapies, alongside physical exercises stemming from Yoga.
I have drawn upon Psychological models that have a great evidence base (please see website for more details of each Therapy approach I use), but also that intuitively feel helpful for the individuals I have supported, and at times in my life, have been great for me too.
Elements of Yoga can be extremely beneficial in building better relationships with our minds and bodies, and by slowing down and paying attention to our needs and values, develop a stronger ‘wise mind’ to help us navigate what life brings and build resilience. It can energise us but also be deeply relaxing and nourishing, so bringing our nervous system to its optimum state.
Are you harshly critical of yourself?
This program will focus on building a compassionate part within, and recognise and find ways to overcome the barriers to developing this more helpful way of supporting yourself through the ups and downs of life.
Do you ‘know’ what you need, but struggle to put it into practice, falling back to unhelpful coping styles?
This program will help teach new ways to cope that are not self-sabotaging and damaging and will help to keep you moving in the right direction.
Do you feel lost or find decisions hard?
This program will help to build confidence in who you are, what you want and need and how to get there.
Would you like talking therapy but cannot afford it?
I truly believe this solution isn’t ‘second best’. I have seen the power of being a in a small, supportive group and drawing on each other’s knowledge.
Have you tried various therapies that haven’t ‘hit the nail on the head’?
I will be drawing on ‘third wave’ empirically supported Therapies which will include mindfulness and skills based methods as well developing insight through understanding the different ‘parts of ourselves’ and using a compassion focused approach. These can help develop greater understanding, a shift in mindset and behaviour to help become ‘unstuck’.
Do you struggle to regulate your emotions? Perhaps feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from them?
This mind-body approach could be beneficial in tuning into what you need to help settle your mood so you feel more able to function day-to-day.
Do you wear a ‘mask’? Do you think this impacts on your emotional and physical health?
At your pace, and in safe and confidential surroundings, you can leave your ‘mask’ at the door - this approach will help you feel less alone with what you are experiencing.
